New School of Economics, UDSM

IPA are working with NHC to construct a new School of Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam. Facilities include student and staff areas, a large auditorium, libraries and research space.

In order to maximise the potential of the site, we split the building into two separate blocks, connected by an access stair. The exterior façade of the building has been designed in such a way to maximise shading and allow for natural ventilation of the spaces while avoiding solar glare.

The project commenced on site in 2021 and is due for completion mid 2023.
